Maryam Ashrafi is an Initiative Coordinator at the Bourse & Bazaar Foundation, where she works across the Iran Vision Initiative and the Integrated Futures Initiative. She recently graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) Europe with a Master of Arts in Global Risk. Her research interests focus on geopolitical, energy, and geoeconomic risk assessment in West Asia.
Maryam previously received a Master of Arts in Regional Studies from Allameh Tabataba’i University in Tehran and worked for more than four years at the Middle East Strategic Studies Center in Tehran. Her research and publications have focused on energy security and policy, China’s relations with West and Central Asia, and the impact of domestic and external risks during periods of crisis on Iran’s decision-making system.
